During holidays past or present, you may have experienced some grief. It may be frustrating to plan travel, stay healthy, or deal with family. Imagine having these same problems and not knowing where your family is, why they won’t invite you over, where you’re going to sleep next week, or how you’re going to eat tomorrow.

These issues, and more, are what children across the nation face day after day. While this may seem dramatized, we can assure you it’s not. According to the California Coalition for Youth, a organization that works heavily in this area, a conservative estimate of over 1,200,000 million youth face these issues and more. That’s a staggering amount of youth going hungry, sleeping in the cold, and not knowing where their next meal is coming from.

Knowing the realities of so many underserved people, we understand the importance of giving back. That’s why we helped serve over 1,000 meals to families with Templo Calvario for Thanksgiving. While food was on the menu, love was the main serving  of the day. Smiling, shaking hands, and hearing stories from people in situations we could never imagine is a truly humbling experience. We hope you can do the same in your community too.

We also give back by helping out our local colleges. DGW has a Direct Donation fund to help bring funds back into guardian scholar/EOPS programs across the nation. We provided funds for the Orange Coast College’s Guardian Scholar Thanksgiving Feast which served over 60 guardian scholars, and had a great time helping out.
